AKD advised Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), a global leader in renewable energy investments that makes significant and meaningful contributions to the green transition, in connection with the tender for the development of IJmuiden Ver Beta, the largest offshore wind farm in the Netherlands, a floating solar plant and an onshore electrolyser for the production of green hydrogen. AKD participated in this project with a multi-disciplinary team advising on a wide range of issues including energy and tender regulation, joint venture structuring, project management and offtake arrangements.
Together with their joint venture partner Vattenfall, CIP will develop and construct a wind farm with 2 GW of installed capacity, that will make 7% of the current electricity consumption in the Netherlands more sustainable. In addition to the wind farm, they have committed to developing, realizing and operating a large-scale 1 GW electrolyser in the Port of Rotterdam that will produce green hydrogen using electricity from the offshore wind farm. CIP and Vattenfall will also realise a 50 MW floating solar plant in the offshore wind farm. Finally, they will take measures to protect marine mammals during the construction of the wind farm and to realise the wind farm in a circular manner. Altogether, an impressive commitment towards a sustainable energy system!
The AKD team consisted of Marjolein Dieperink, Renée Alberts, Christine Delagaye, Emile Hallo, Thyla Fontein-Streefkerk, Sebastiaan Moolenaar, Joost Houdijk, Michael Hajdasinski, Lennart Crain, Victor van Uden, Lucas de Vet, Maarten de Wit, Erik Dans, Peter Cohen, Ruben Dickhoff, Ludo Luijks and Renée Schipper.
