The municipalities of Dongen, Gilze-Rijen, Goirle, Heusden, Loon op Zand, Oisterwijk and Tilburg in the Province of Noord-Brabant and Energiefonds Brabant will together develop wind and solar parks to generate sustainable electricity. To that end, the parties have established a development company, ‘Publiek Ontwikkelbedrijf REKS B.V.’. The municipality of Hilvarenbeek is expected to join soon.
With this development company, local governments take and maintain control of the energy transition, guarantee local ownership and invest in climate measures within the region.
