AKD assists Swedish retail chain Ur & Penn with the sale of a majority stake in Lucardi to Mentha Capital

 

Lucardi

Established in 1985, Lucardi has grown to become the largest jewellery chain in the Netherlands. Lucardi has more than 100 physical stores and offers customers a wide range of gold and silver jewellery, watches and other accessories at affordable prices. The more than 500 dedicated employees of Lucardi serve millions of customers every year.

 

Ur & Penn

Ur & Penn is a successful Swedish retail chain focused on the broader watches and fashion jewellery segment. The current owner Ayad Al Saffar will retain his position as significant shareholder of Lucardi and will remain active in his strategic advisory role.

 

Mentha Capital

Mentha Capial invests in well-established, profitable companies with a clear growth potential and is convinced that Lucardi is capable of further strengthening and expanding its niche position in the rapidly changing retail market.

 

The transaction has been submitted to the ACM for approval.
