AKD partners with Global People and Stichting Studeren & Werken Op Maat

A working environment where everyone can be themselves to realise their full potential. That is what we at AKD find important. Diversity - not similarity - builds strength.

That's the rationale behind our decision to partner up with Global People and Stichting Studeren & Werken Op Maat. This collaboration allows us to contribute to a labour market that is genuinely inclusive.

Global People is fastest growing network of people who think and act inclusively. By partnering with Global People, AKD gets access to an inclusive network that offers us the opportunity to recruit more multicultural talents. We will be able to submit selected job openings to Global People. Global People will then assist us ánd the suitable candidates for the selected job openings throughout the recruitment process. They are thoroughly familiar with the challenges, the pitfalls and the (unconscious) bias that come with the application procedure. Using this approach, Global People want to bring about a sea change in the way talent is recognised.

In addition to providing assistance, they organise annual recruitment events bringing together employers and preselected candidates from their multicultural network.

More information about Global People can be found on their website or watch this video.

Stichting Studeren & Werken op Maat (SWOM) is a foundation that helps highly skilled Young Professionals with occupational disabilities find jobs that suit their education level.

To achieve this aim, SWOM seeks collaboration with major employers in the Netherlands, including AKD. They actively search for talents that will suit the type of work, organisation and culture prevalent at AKD. Having introduced the Young Professional to AKD, a SWOM coach will assist the Young Professional and AKD's HR adviser throughout the application process. If the Young Professional actually is hired, the coach will continue to be involved, helping the Young Professional settle in their job. In this role, the coach is available to provide colleagues and superiors with information and assistance about supervising and helping their new colleague, and to advise them on creating a suitable working environment.

More information about SWOM can be found on their website. Alternatively, watch this video about Young Professional Simone, who relates about her experience in a new job and the assistance she received. Her coach and her supervisor also appear in the video.
