Offering our clients a full package of legal and tax services

AKD has recruited prof. dr. René van der Paardt, as of 1 October 2016, as a new partner for its Tax and Real Estate & Construction practice group.

Erwin Rademakers, AKD's Managing Partner: "René will add a wealth of knowledge and experience both to our tax and construction practice. His arrival fits in perfectly with AKD's strategy of offering our clients a full package of legal and tax services." With over 450 lawyers, civil-law notaries, tax advisors and staff, AKD is the leading internationally focused legal and tax firm for any business dealing with the Benelux countries.

René van der Paardt comments as follows on his move to AKD: "AKD is a fantastic firm with a solid reputation. AKD's ambitions in the domestic tax and construction practice and its international expansion in my area of expertise were for me decisive factors in making this switch. I am looking forward to contributing to the future success of this dynamic club."

René is a tax consultant and specialises in VAT and real estate transfer tax (RETT) matters. He has extensive experience in advising investors, property funds, project developers, local authorities and housing corporations in the construction industry. He also advises banks, insurers and pension funds. René is a part-time Professor of Economics of Taxation at the Department of Business Economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam and also teaches at the Amsterdam School of Real Estate, Nyenrode University and the International Tax Centre of Leiden University. René gives lectures on VAT and real estate transfer tax, frequently publishes articles and is an editor of the journals WPNR and Bouwrecht [in Dutch].

Before joining AKD, René worked at law firm Loyens & Loeff for 21 years.
