AKD has appointed Hugo Doornhof and Sebastiaan Moolenaar as equity partners. AKD's Board has appointed Floris van Westrhenen and Joris Rijken as associate partners. The appointments will take effect from 1 June 2017.

Hugo Doornhof has been working as an administrative lawyer since 2002, specialising in environmental law and civil law with a focus on public authorities. He advises and litigates in matters regarding general administrative law and administrative procedural law, environmental law decisions, claims against public authorities and public-private collaborations. Hugo is also involved in government enforcement actions against companies based on environmental law provisions or regulations regarding working conditions. His clients include both public authorities and private parties (property developers, industrial companies, housing associations).
Sebastiaan Moolenaar is affiliated to AKD's Transport & Trade practice group. He plays an active role in cases on international trade, commercial contracts in supply chains and logistic services. Sebastiaan specialises in resolving cargo conflicts. He is regularly involved in cases relating to international disputes on ownership, attachments and security rights. Most of his clients are internationally operating enterprises, some of which are foreign companies, with cross-border distribution or agency networks, commodities traders and logistic service providers.
Floris van Westrhenen joined AKD in 2004 and has been working as an adviser and a lawyer in the field of tenancy law, project development and construction disputes. Floris advises companies and public authorities as they prepare sale-and-lease-back schemes and negotiates lease agreements. In terms of project development, he focuses on the development (or redevelopment) of industrial estates, inner-city areas and new expansion locations. He assists both public authorities and private parties.
Joris Rijken is a lawyer as well as a non-practising physician. He specialises in healthcare contracting and regulation. Joris mostly represents healthcare providers. He assists them in matters regarding healthcare procurement, healthcare assessments and communications with the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa), the Dutch Healthcare Inspectorate (IGZ) and other supervisory authorities.
