About Erik Dans

Erik Dans is an attorney-at-law at AKD who specialises in administrative law, food legislation and environmental law (the environment and spatial planning). Within this context he advises and litigates frequently with regard to zoning plans, environmental permits for (large-scale) construction projects and environmental complexes, freedom of information and foodstuffs legislation, for example in relation to food hygiene and animal welfare.

A fundamental aspect of Erik's work is advising and litigating on the enforcement of food legislation and environmental law. Examples include objections to, and appeals against, administrative enforcement or penalty decisions and administrative fines.

Erik primarily advises companies – including project developers and food businesses – as well as government bodies. Clients appreciate his involvement and astute analyses.

In Kluwer's Text & Comment [Tekst & Commentaar] publication Erik wrote the comment on waste substances for chapter 10 of the Environmental Management Act [Wet milieubeheer]. He also makes contributions relating to the General Administrative Law Act [Algemene wet bestuursrecht] in the professional journal, 'Sdu Commentaar'. In addition, Erik is a lecturer in environmental law at the Study Centre for Business and Government [Studiecentrum voor Bedrijf en Overheid].
