About François Koppenol

François Koppenol is a lawyer and partner at AKD who has been involved in numerous national and international transactions, including private equity deals and venture capital investments. François advises on strategic takeovers and buyouts, but also supports investment funds in the field of investments and exits.

François combines this experience with his extensive knowledge and expertise in the field of insolvency and restructuring and is therefore the ideal person to advise on distressed M&A transactions. In addition, he regularly gives courses on M&A and other matters relating to corporate law.

In the Chambers leading lawyers for business in Europe François is named as a key individual in the field of Corporate/M&A. According to Chambers: 'Francois Koppenol is "creative in finding solutions that work for everybody", say clients.’ In the Legal500 François is recommended for private equity and venture capital.

François completed the postgraduate Grotius training courses in 'Mergers and Acquisitions' and 'Insolvency Law'. François is also a member of the editorial board of the Dutch journal, known as the 'Tijdschrift voor de bedrijfsopvolging' and a co-author of the 'Sdu Commentaar' case law commentary series.
