About Hedwig den Herder

Hedwig den Herder is a senior lawyer at AKD. Since the start of her career she has focused entirely on the care sector. Within this sector Hedwig has specific knowledge of care, performance and pricing regulations and healthcare insurance. She also has experience with disputes between medical specialists and in the field of the social domain (Social Support Act [Wet maatschappelijke ondersteuning] (Wmo) 2015 and the Youth Act [Jeugdwet]).

Hedwig acts primarily on behalf of care providers in disputes with the government and care insurers, or in disputes within their own organisation. If necessary she also litigates before the administrative and civil court.

Hedwig is an editor of the Sdu journal 'Care and law in practice' [Zorg en Recht in de Praktijk] (ZIP). She regularly publishes on issues relating to the care sector.
