About Hubert André-Dumont

Hubert André-Dumont has nearly 40 years of legal experience. His practice focuses on commercial law, company law, non-profit entities, real estate and construction law, and in particular on mining (including extensive experience in francophone Africa), corporate governance, real estate finance and mergers and acquisitions.

He also provides advice to wealthy families, establishes and manages family offices, for the creation and management of their holding and operational companies and their charitable entities. He assists them for the taking of tailor-made and strategic decisions in close cooperation with their other specialist advisors in Belgium and abroad. This includes complex securities portfolios, art and real estate.

Hubert has published extensively on international business and mining law issues, including on Congolese mining and corporate law issues and international construction matters, also covering the FIDIC form of engineering and construction contract.

Hubert became a member of the Brussels Bar (French) in 1982 after receiving a Lic. Jur. law degree from the Université Catholique de Louvain. He also holds a master’s degree in commercial law from the University of Bristol, England (1985). Hubert completed the Advanced Leadership Program at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management in Chicago in 2009. He is fluent in French, English and Dutch, and has a passive knowledge of German and Spanish.

Hubert is co-chair of the Mining Law Committee of the International Bar Association. He is also active in the charity sector, where he is an officer of various NGOs.

Hubert is regularly recommended by law directories such as The Legal 500 (EMEA's section on Belgium in the categories ‘Corporate and M&A’ and 'Real Estate') and Chambers and Partners (as an M&A and mining law expert for the Democratic Republic of Congo). Who's Who Legal recommends Hubert as a Global Leader in Mining for 2021.
