About Jos van der Velden

Jos van der Velden is a lawyer and partner at AKD who is a specialist in environmental law. He advises and represents government bodies and companies regarding planning and environmental law and nature protection procedures, such as zoning and integration plans, route decisions and environmental permits. Clients appreciate Jos because his years of experience and practical approach mean he can provide clear added value in complex projects. Engaging him at the earliest possible stage prevents problems and delays later on.

Jos is particularly specialised in infrastructural projects and noise nuisance problems. He has written a number of publications on these issues. He is the author of parts of the series entitled 'Text & commentary' [Tekst & Commentaar] on the Environmental and Planning Act [Omgevingswet]. He is also a member of the editorial team of the Environment & Law [Milieu & Recht] Journal. In addition he regularly teaches about environmental law and is a member of the board of the Dutch Association of Environmental Lawyers [Vereniging van Milieurecht-Advocaten] (VMA) and a member of the Environmental and Planning Act review council of the Association of Netherlands Municipalities [Vereniging Nederlandse Gemeenten] (VNG).
