About Karen Langeveld

Karen Langeveld is a tax consultant at AKD where she specialises in indirect taxation. She has wide-ranging experience advising on VAT, transfer tax, customs issues and various other indirect taxes. Karen’s clients include national and international corporates in a variety of sectors, whom she assists on matters ranging from day-to-day VAT issues, such as the VAT implications of (international) flows of goods and provision of services, to immovable property deals, reorganisations, M&A, and energy issues. Karen has also performed many due diligence reviews and high-level scans with regard to indirect taxation.

She also assists clients in their consultations and disputes with the Tax and Customs Administration and she has helped several companies with the process of setting up a Tax Control Framework. Clients appreciate the fact that Karen is alert to their needs and contributes ideas about optimising their operating processes relating to indirect taxation. She is able to give practical advice without losing sight of the company’s best interests. One of the reasons for this is that Karen is able to combine her experience as a tax consultant with her experience as an in-house VAT specialist.
