Koen is a partner and attorney-at-law at AKD. He boasts over 30 years of experience in EU and competition law. Koen is part of the firm's EU law, Competition & Regulatory team.
Koen is an all-round competition lawyer handling the full range of EU and Belgian competition law matters. He advises and represents clients before EU institutions, national competition authorities, the EU Courts in Luxembourg and national courts. He has significant experience handling merger control cases, cartel investigations, abuse of dominance cases, compliance work, competition law litigation and State aid. He also advises more broadly on EU regulatory matters. His practice spans a wide variety of sectors, including agri-food, distribution, energy, life sciences, technology and private equity.
As member of the Brussels Bar, Koen regularly speaks at conferences on various competition law issues and has written extensively on competition law matters.
