About Michiel Fechner

Michiel Fechner is a lawyer at AKD who specializes in construction and real estate law. He advises clients in the fields of project and area development, public-private partnerships, tenancy law issues and (international) real estate transactions. He also deals with the formation of contracts in complex construction and infrastructure projects, real estate transactions and disputes.

Previously Michiel advised as a lawyer about mergers and acquisitions. In doing so he was involved in general corporate law, but also commercial contracting, joint ventures and cross-border restructurings. In that period Michiel acquired a great deal of knowledge and experience on the Asian market.

In addition, Michiel frequently acted as an independent bankruptcy trustee in bankruptcy cases. He also advised, in that capacity, on the law governing attachments and executions, disputes on termination of (group) financing, enforcement of security interests and disputes concerning several liability. His clients include real estate investors, contractors, owners’ associations and housing corporations.

Michiel completed his Bachelor’s degree in law at the University of Utrecht. He further acquired a Master’s degree in Private Law with a focus on commercial legal practice at the University of Amsterdam.
