About Ron de Martines

Ron de Martines is an attorney-at-law at AKD who specialises in regulated markets, with a particular focus on heat, hydrogen and telecoms.

Another specialist area is private law in relation to the public sector, and Ron's clients in this area include government agencies and private parties. He assists them with the drafting and reviewing of contracts, within the context of area development, for example. Area development also has a public law side, coming to the fore in the Municipalities (Preferential Rights) Act [Wet voorkeursrecht gemeenten], to name an example.

When it comes to the supply of heat, Ron regularly provides guidance on the installation of district heating, and he drafts supply contract with general conditions. In addition, he charts the positions of parties in the energy transition. Ron has been involved in several pilot areas for natural-gas-free neighbourhoods, not just assisting local and higher authorities but also housing associations, developers and suppliers.

In addition to his advisory and litigation work, Ron regularly writes articles, comments and blogs on his areas of expertise.
