About Rutger van Thiel
Rutger van Thiel is an assigned civil-law notary at AKD who specialises in corporate law. He advises (listed) national and international companies, family businesses and financial institutions about (international) structures and the structuring of transactions in the case of joint ventures, mergers and takeovers.
Rutger has worked in the notarial profession for many years and previously worked for a long time at another leading international firm. This broad experience means he is regularly engaged as a specialist in complex legal issues. He is also one of the few specialists in the Netherlands in the field of the transfer of registered offices of legal entities.
Rutger’s clients are active in, among others, the aviation and transport sectors, manufacturing and IT. They appreciate his creativity and drive and his capacity to get to the root of complicated issues.
Rutger’s more recent transactions included:
- supervising an employee participation process at a foreign airline;
- supervising an employee participation process at a Dutch IT company;
- restructuring a family business;
- supervising the restructuring of an insurance company;
- setting up a corporate structure in the Netherlands for an international shoe brand;
- supervising a transfer of the registered office of a Dutch private company with limited liability to Germany;
- supervising a cross-border merger of a Dutch private company with limited liability and a Luxembourg S.à.r.l.
