About Sander Engels

Sander Engels is a partner at AKD who specialises in construction and real estate law, his expertise including complex construction, energy and infrastructure projects and construction disputes. He advises clients on integrated construction contracts (D&B/EPC), public-private partnerships and matters pertaining to area and project development. He has extensive experience negotiating and drafting contracts (including integrated ones) on the basis of the UAV-GC 2005/2025 and FIDIC, among other models.

Sander regularly acts as counsel in construction and tender disputes before the civil courts, the Arbitration Board for the Building Industry, and the Netherlands Arbitration Institute.

In addition, he provides advice on procurement law for construction and other projects, and regularly supervises national and European tendering procedures, including innovation partnerships.

Sander's clients include public authorities, water boards, housing associations, international real estate investors, project developers, architects and contractors.

Sander teaches and publishes regularly on various topics relating to construction and procurement law. To name an example, he co-authored the practical guide 'Construction Contracts'.
