About Sophie Groeneveld

Sophie Groeneveld is a lawyer at AKD who specialises in administrative law and the interface between this field of law and private law.

Sophie advises and litigates on, for example, general administrative law, subsidy law and government information (Government Information (Public Access) Act [Wet openbaarheid van bestuur] and General Data Protection Regulation [Algemene verordening gegevensbescherming]). Her other specialist fields are education law, the Railways Act [Spoorwegwet], the Local Railways Act [Wet lokaal spoor] and (fraud in) care and social domain cases.

Sophie’s clients are mainly government bodies, state-owned companies and non-profit institutions. Her clients appreciate her dedication to a case and the fact that she looks for practical solutions which best serve the interest of her clients.

Sophie writes regularly in blogs and annotations to legal verdicts in the fields of general administrative law, government information and subsidy law. She also gives courses on new developments in administrative law, subsidy law and government information.
